2008 — 2009 Speech Contests
Are You a Bonified Ad–libber? Do You Love Speaking Off The Cuff?
Do you crave a platform to speak what's on your mind? Are you passionate about something, and want to share it with the Agnes Scott Community? The Speaking Center has the solution!
If so, the "Golden Pony" is just for you! Every fall, the Speaking Center hosts the Annual Impromptu Speech Contest, a time for students to show off (and improve) their impromptu speaking skills.
How does it work? Contestants randomly choose three humorous topics (i.e. "toes," "Evans Dining Hall" and "deodorant") and are given two minutes to craft a two–three minute speech. The best impromptu speech will be awarded "The Golden Pony" Award!
This year, the Impromptu Speech Contest will be held Thursday November 20, 2008 at 7:00p.m. in the Speaking Center. To enter, just show up prepared to have fun. See you there!
Congratulations to Julia Wilkinson, recipient of the fall 2007 Impromptu Speaking Contest Golden Troll Award!
