Impromptu Speech Contest 2007
Students gather in the Speaking Center for the Impromptu Speech Contest
On Thursday, November 8th, the Speaking Center held the annual Impromptu Speech Contest. With 16 participants speaking on subjects ranging from tips on impressing Georgia Tech guys to the impact of the death of Sadaam Hussein, an informative and fun time was had by all.
Congratulations go out to our winners: Julia Sierra Wilkinson in 1st place with a speech on Britney Spears' parenting skills, Kris Phelps in 2nd place with a speech concerning the merits of various soft drinks, and in 3rd place, Adria Toliver, who spoke on stay at home fathers.
The Speaking Center would like to take the time to thank our wonderful sponsors: Black Cat Café, the Agnes Scott College Bookstore, and Salon Red, for providing us with some great prizes. Be sure to come out in the Spring, when the Speaking Center holds its prepared speech contest!
